Halloween is not my thing, but I know some people love it. So this week, I'm sharing with you all things ghostly - walks and music (I do like the music!).
So here is my first offering of music. I remember watching the video for this at a friend's house when it came out. The best! Enjoy!
If experiencing a haunting is your thing, then maybe this is the place for you. The London Ghost Tours offer walks to haunted locations, eerie alleyways, all guided by the frock-coated Richard, who has been running his tours since the early 1980's. Have a look at his website, book a tour and have a scary evening.
Next up is the theme tune to Ghostbusters. Back in the day, my husband made my son a ghostbuster pack out of a box and two empty drinks bottles. He loved it. The original film is still the best in my book.
If you have kids this might appeal. I've never heard of this museum before, but if you go, let me know what it's like. Twist Museum has a half-term Halloween special.
Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult is a favourite of mine. Turn the volume up on this one!
This one sounds more thing. A bus tour by the London Ghost Bus Tour. Check out their website.
This song is a little more sedate, but I've always been an Eagles fan and once saw them at Wembley in the days before large screens. They were tiny dots on a stage, but the music was great.
Now this is one you will never see me in. Anything like this is a big no-no for me, but I know others love this stuff, my brother for one. The London Dungeon is not for the faint-hearted, well, not for my faint heart, that's for sure! Still, don't let me put you off.
And if after visiting the London Dungeon you feel like someone is watching you, maybe they are!
If you like the idea of a walk and boat trip, the Ghost, Ghouls and Gallows tour might fit the bill.
How about a bit of Monster Mash?
Is music more your thing? Candlelight WB Horror Concerts might be up your street. Tickets for this are going fast, so you need to be quick.
Now for a classic song by Nina Simone. You can probably guess which one!
Dark Secrets Exhibition promises 27 themed rooms looking into the occult with cursed dolls and haunted occult objects. Fancy that?
Something from the past, a jaunty little number from R Dean Taylor:
All this too scary? Never mind, I have just the thing if you love chocolate. The Chocolate Cocktail Club has the evening for you. They have been brewing specials like Spooky S'Mores and The Haunted House. A cauldron of drinks awaits you. Can you resist the dark side?
And here is a nice little tune by The Romones:
Another Halloween Party boat trip. This one is all about comic book drama and superheroes with Thames Luxury Charters on 1st November.
And now a word from Rihanna:
If you are looking for more ghostly walking tours there are plenty to choose from on this website. Everything from Jack the Ripper walks to Ghastly Ghostly Walking Tours, and don't forget places like The Tower of London, always ghostly as far as I'm concerned.
And finally, another Eagles song (yeah, pure self-indulgence here). It's a live version. Hotel California, a place you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!
Have a great Halloween however you celebrate, or in my case....don't!
