Signs of spring and dull days

My local park

Three weeks ago I signed a pledge to walk 1000 miles in 2026. I thought this was a lot until I realised how much walking I do on most days just walking the dog and doing everyday things. I'm clocking up between 24 to 28 miles a week. And none of these walks are ones I set out to do. Not what I call proper walks using a walking route. The pledge says you can do your walking how you like, so I'm not pressured into walking routes to prove I've walked a number of miles. There is a Facebook group page and everyone is having a rough start due to the weather. January was a particularly bad month for walking.

Anyway, I am packing in the miles without really trying, which works for me. However, I do miss a proper walk. Everywhere is so muddy and I hate the cold and rain, so when I see a few signs of spring my heart lifts. I've seen a few daffs out (some were out in December in London). In my local park the crocuses are out, and on one rare sunny day, the park looked lovely. I took the opportunity to take a few photos.

Spring is on the way

Mud, mud, glorious mud!

Last week I also popped to Vauxhall to drop something off to my son. It was a little cloudy, but no rain. I took a few pictures.

I do have a couple of fixed plans in my diary now, so something different will be coming your way soon. Have a good week and if you spot the sun let me know!
