Illegal Eagles at New Wimbledon Theatre

Hotel California

I became an Eagles fan back in the 1970's and I saw them in concert at Wembley before the days of big screens. They were just dots in the distance, ah, but their sound. I have all their albums.

Last night I went along to see the Illegal Eagles at New Wimbledon Theatre. Having heard how good they were, I couldn't resist. They were brilliant. I sang along to nearly every song and there was some serious chair bopping before everyone was up on their feet in the second half.

They have a real following (this is the second time they have been to Wimbledon this year, I believe). Their concerts are sell-out events, and I'd certainly go again. Last night was the Hotel California show. They sang every song off the album (not necessarily in the right order) as well as putting in as many of the Eagles hits as they could.

I'd been late booking a seat, so was almost at the back of the stalls, but I just managed to get some photos and record a couple of videos. It was a wonderful night (if somewhat hot in the theatre). I was so pleased they played Boys of Summer. That one always makes me want to dance. All the songs were great, going right back to their beginnings in the 70's. This was the highlight of my week.
