Singing in the cold

Singing at Waterloo station was a cold experience even though I had layered up and in the end resorted to gloves. However, despite competing with station announcements and the keyboard running out of battery power (new ones were quickly purchased) it was fun and lots of people stopped to listen, take photos and film. There was a bunch of school girls on the upstairs level leaning over to listen and they waved and cheered enthusiastically. We sang for an hour and the Stoke Association buckets were filling nicely. Singing outside is always hard work because sound just disappears and you can't hear the other parts of the choir well, so it's difficulty to know how we are doing but apparently we got some good feedback from the public and the Stroke Association.

Today it was back to rehearsals, mainly for events this week I can't get to due to other commitments but after rehearsal next Wednesday 10th we are off to the Southbank to sing at The Royal Festival Hall either on the terrace outside or inside the foyer (I'm hoping for inside!) at 1.30pm.

Someone has pushed the boat out and got us some fliers for our end of term concert. They look rather good. It's about time we had a bit of publicity! This should be a good one and I have some friends coming along to listen.
