Christmas lights, not the London ones!

My local church on Advent Sunday

Busy weeks with attendances at Advent services and trying to get to grips with Christmas shopping. Last week after an afternoon Advent service, I wandered into Kingston town centre to see what their lights were like this year. I noticed the Christmas market was a bit depleted. Usually there are huts off the main pedestrianised shopping area through to the ancient market. Not this year, although the indoor market was still there in the grounds of All Saints' Church by the market.

I also strolled into the Bentall Centre shopping mall to take a look there. Their lights were looking good.

Our tree went up earlier last week and I have decorated my writing room (why not?). The weather hasn't been great for exploring anywhere, with Storm Darragh hovered over us all weekend. Thankfully, we didn't get the worst of it, but it was an awful night to go out last night. As I was singing in a concert, I had to go out in the wind and rain. Transport was delayed, as usual. I have to say I am getting fed up with cancellations and late running trains, as well as being thrown off buses that are being turned round. It has gone beyond a joke and is so regular that one begins to accept it. Very frustrating for making plans and then turning up late to things.
