Hilarious comedy - Silver Lining

Last night fifteen members of my local branch of Mothers' Union met at the Rose Theatre, Kingston for a performance of Silver Lining a new comedy written by Sandi Toksvig. The story centres around a group of five elderly ladies in a retirement home who have been abandoned during a storm flood. A coach is supposed to be coming but eventually they realise no one is coming and they will have rescue themselves. While they prepare they trade stories of their lives.

What a brilliant performance - hilarious and touching. Laughter rang out in the auditorium and one particular scene got a round of hearty applause and cheers. Wonderful. Cleverly put together with puns and jokes firing off at each turn. I urge you to see it if you can. You won't be disappointed.
