Jigsaw puzzle on the go. |
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. My desk is occupied with a jigsaw I'm in the middle of doing, so I'm back to writing on my lap today, just like old times before I had 'a room of one's own', as Virginia Woolf would have said.
On Boxing Day we took Rue to Richmond Park where we could let him loose for a bit, before putting him back on the lead to walk through the Isabella Plantation. There is always something to look at there. Few flowers on show, but a nice range of grasses in their different colours were a interesting display.

The grasses |
I'd never been to Richmond Park on Boxing Day before, but I'd heard it got busy. Oh, yes, it was busy, despite the mud and dullness of the day. By the time we left (coming up to lunch time) the car park was almost full, as were the others in Richmond Park. The cafe huts were doing a roaring trade.
Using the wide angle feature |
The day was a chance to get to grips with the camera on my new mobile phone. My old mobile's screen froze a couple of days before Christmas and I couldn't shut it down (even using the forced shutdown method). I couldn't answer calls or write texts. Nothing worked. Unbeknown to me my son had bought me a refurbished Google Pixel phone for Christmas and he gave it to me early and set it up for me. Thankfully, and most of what I needed from my old phone had been saved by Google. I had intended to buy a new phone next year, as mine was old and wouldn't backup certain things. It was grinding to a halt. So, I've had a few days to get used to the new phone. Sometimes I still have to ask my son how to do something, or where I find so-and-so, but I'm doing okay. The camera is also different and I'm still getting to grips with it. One feature I'm pleased about is having a wide angle view, which my old phone didn't have.
Anyway, all these photos were taken with my new mobile. Hopefully, I'll get faster at finding the right settings, and where the flash is, so on and so forth, and it will all become second nature. Meanwhile, bear with me.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. See you in 2025. Meanwhile, Rue was really pleased with his Christmas presents and will be popping by now and again!
